All Syrah from a mix of sites in the Columbia Valley (Bacchus, Boushey, and Red Heaven), the 2021 Syrah Sequel is deep purple-hued with a rocking nose of cassis and blackberry fruits interwoven with notions of smoked meats, chocolate, and peppery herbs. It's full-bodied, rich, mouthfilling and textured, with ripe tannins and a great finish. It's another sensational Syrah from winemaker Gilles Nicault that will keep for 10-15 years if well stored.
Polished syrah with notes of cracked pepper, olive tapenade, black plum, mocha and sage. Inky, dark and firm on the full-bodied palate, with a solid, chewy tannin frame. A little restrained and brooding for now. About 30% whole cluster fermented. Try from 2027.
The 2021 Syrah Sequel grumbles up from the glass with a blend of grilled herbs, exotic spices and mentholated blackberries. It's silky smooth yet lifted in feel, with a mass of ripe red and black fruit that takes on a tart saturating effect toward the close. Edgy tannins resonate as this finishes long and structured, leaving hints of salted licorice and clove.
