Aged for 19 months in 65% French oak barrels, this 2022 wine opens with enticing blue fruit notes, blackberry preserves, and toasty oak spices. The palate reveals fantastic dark-toned fruit with impressive depth, layering the mid-palate with excellent intensity. The fruit is beautifully balanced by well-integrated, velvet-textured tannins, framed by a pleasing, grippy tension. A very focused and structured wine, it delivers a classic expression of its vintage, showcasing precision, depth, elegance, and balance even at 15.5% alcohol.

Aged 19 months in 100% French oak barrels (65% new), the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon is a rock-solid success in this challenging vintage. Plums, subtle cassis, flowery incense, and spicy, cedary nuances all define the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied, round, lush, and textured, with terrific overall balance. I like it today, yet it will keep for 8-10 years. Drink 2025-2035.
