Winery:
"This is a wine that not only celebrates where we've been as a family and a winery over two generations, it's also a wine that will age gracefully, making it a beautiful addition to any collection," said Kim Stare Wallace, President and second-generation owner of Dry Creek Vineyard. "We decided to release this wine in time for the holidays because it represents everything our family believes in, and we want it to be a centerpiece for people celebrating their own traditions."
This special release commemorates five decades of family winemaking in Sonoma County's Dry Creek Valley. The wine is available through the winery's tasting room and website for $220, or $240 in a commemorative gift box.
Director of Winemaking Tim Bell describes the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon as "the best Cabernet we've ever produced," a testament to the ideal growing conditions that year. "2019 offered a mild season that allowed for a long hang time, giving the fruit ample opportunity to develop fully while preserving its natural acidity. The result is a balanced, complex wine with the depth and richness our followers expect from a Dry Creek Valley Cabernet."
